An ice boat (often spelled as “iceboat”) is a boat or purpose-built framework similar in functional design to a sail boat but fitted with skis or runners (skates) and designed to run over ice instead of through (liquid) water. Ice yachting is the sport of sailing and racing iceboats.

It's a memory maker

In 2007, our founder David Foster along with his brother and late father met up at Portage Lake in Michigan.  The wind was up and the ice was right. They had built this boat together.  It was time to seize the wind!

Risk and adventure have the ability to bond people together across differences and generations in a unique and powerful way.

Check out the video!  Our favorite moment is David's father saying,  “Now I remember why I do this!”
